The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Switch (NSP ROM XCI) is a role-playing adventure game for the Nintendo Switch. It’s the first main installment in The Legend of Zelda series where you play as Princess Zelda.

The game features the Z aiming system, which debuted in Ocarina of Time, a 2D Zelda game. However, unlike Ocarina of Time, where simply finding an enemy on screen was usually enough to aim, Echoes of Wisdom’s top-down perspective makes this system more complex. I had to be patient while aiming to select an enemy. Once a target is located, the game prioritizes it in combat.

One of the most appealing aspects of the world of Echoes of Wisdom is the feeling that Zelda’s story has already begun before you even arrive. As you explore this world, you’ll encounter characters who offer clues about Link’s actions. You can even explore her hometown and imagine her acquiring her first sword and shield there. Everyone in Hyrule knows her and will tell you about her adventures. You will discover parts of Link’s journey as he helps the various races of Hyrule in their quest to rescue Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is available in NSP and/or XCI formats for Nintendo Switch CFW consoles and is also compatible with leading Nintendo Switch emulators on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.
