Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey Switch (NSP ROM XCI) is an adventure platform game where you embark on a journey through a vast 3D world, exploring amazing locations beyond the Mushroom Kingdom with Mario and his new ally, Cappy. Collect power-ups to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser’s marriage plans and use fantastic new abilities like grabbing and controlling objects, animals, and enemies to power up the Odyssey!

Thanks to Cappy, Mario gains new moves like jumping, throwing, and grabbing his hat, requiring you to rethink your traditional running and jumping gameplay. Use your captured allies (enemies, objects, and animals) to progress through the game and discover many hidden collectibles.

This Super Mario game follows Mario’s journey through different kingdoms to rescue Princess Peach from his enemy Bowser, who is trying to force her into marriage, using Cappy, a special hat that allows Mario to control other characters and objects. Unlike the linear gameplay of previous games, Super Mario Odyssey returns to the open-world, 3D platforming style of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.

Developed by Nintendo’s Entertainment Planning and Development division, the game’s development process began shortly after the release of Super Mario 3D World in 2013. Many ideas were considered during development, and to achieve this, the team decided on an open-world gameplay style. Unlike previous games such as New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Odyssey is specifically designed to appeal to the most loyal fans of the series.
