Ori and the Will of the Wisps NSP ROM XCI is an action game that takes you on a new adventure into the heart of a vast and bizarre world. Face challenging enemies and solve intricate puzzles to discover Ori’s fate.
Like Ori and the Blind Forest, this sequel is a classic example of Metroidvania. As expected, you’ll explore a vast world divided into regions with unique environments, unlock new abilities, and overcome countless challenges against powerful enemies. While some of these abilities will be familiar to players of the first game, you’ll also discover new and equally interesting ones, such as burial. Ori can move swiftly across soft sand and emerge with the power of a dolphin. But my favorite ability is launching: the game pauses when you use enemies or projectiles to propel Ori forward.
As you might guess, this ability allows you to solve platforming puzzles just as challenging as in the original game. For about ten hours of gameplay, you’ll constantly feel like you’re discovering something new. Especially during breaks between challenging platforming stages, enemy battles, or thrilling chases, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the beautiful world created by Moon Studios. Another significant addition to this new version is the auto-save feature, which eliminates some of the frustrations created by the save point system in the first game. Despite Uri and the Blind Forest’s strengths, its combat system was less engaging compared to other gameplay mechanics, making it a weak point.
