Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (NSP ROM XCI) is a role-playing game for the Nintendo Switch. The third installment in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series, following Marvel Ultimate Alliance (2006) and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (2009), it is the first Marvel game published by Nintendo. Set in a different universe than the previous two games, the story follows a team of superheroes who unite to retrieve the six Infinity Stones before Thanos and the Black Order, facing various forces of evil along the way.
Like the first two games, the gameplay is a top-down dungeon crawler, with a strong cooperative component. Up to four players can play locally on a single screen with a single Nintendo Switch console connected to a TV, with up to four consoles in handheld mode, or with friends online or in random player lobbies. Players choose four characters from different Marvel universes to play through linear levels, fight enemies, and defeat bosses. Specific passive bonuses are obtained through specific character combinations. The controls are almost identical for each character. Each character has the following abilities: jump, light attack, heavy attack, dodge, parry, and four special abilities.
Switch games are playable on PC using emulators like Yuzu or Ryujinx.
