About This Game

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Switch NSP ROM is an action game that blends the world and characters of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series. Although it takes place during the same era as Breath of the Wild, it offers a very different gameplay experience. Instead of an open-world adventure, you engage in a series of battles that unfold a century before the events of Breath of the Wild. Fans expecting the freedom of exploration might be disappointed, as Koei Tecmo’s narrative style is more structured and battle-focused.

Story

The story is surprisingly well-crafted with unexpected twists. It’s enjoyable to see the characters interact as a group, something Breath of the Wild rarely showed through flashbacks. However, Link and Zelda’s relationship remains mostly in the background—they become inseparable without clear reasons, and unlike Breath of the Wild, there’s no initial tension between them. While the game doesn’t expand much on moments from the previous title, their interactions are still engaging. If you’re familiar with Warriors or Musou games, expect to fight through hordes of enemies as you move from objective to objective.

Gameplay

Classic Zelda games typically have straightforward plots, so this was a chance to introduce deeper characters and a richer world. Despite many cutscenes—some of which feel low quality—the gameplay mainly revolves around reactivating Breath of the Wild’s god-like beasts and rallying allies. Zelda remains timid, Link silent, and the tension between characters minimal.

No matter the Omega Force game, the core gameplay is similar: face hundreds of enemies simultaneously on large maps. Except for a few main bosses (notably in Mobilein and Age of Calamity), most enemies pose little threat in normal mode and often stay still until you defeat many of them.
